James Edward Wilkins

DESIGNER

James Edward Wilkins is an award winning multi-disciplinary designer and studio, working in the fields of architecture, design and photography for more than 35 years, after studies at the Pratt Institute of Art and Design in New York City. Wilkins arrived in Singapore in 2012 for an art exhibition and immediately initiated design work on an art resort in Bali - wherein all of the elements are created by artists. For a decade he has designed residential, commercial, civic, and hospitality projects in Bali, The Maldives, China, India and Dubai, working alongside local architects of record and structural engineers from each region.

The buildings have been likened to monumental scale sculptures in the landscape, timeless, significant and pure, creating a dialogue with nature and culture, weaving together light and structure, air and form.

Recent architectural projects include a nightclub featuring an expansive glass pool and cafe in Seminyak Bali, an Institute of Cinema and Performing Arts in Goa, master planning for Vistas Colonnade, a mixed use development in Goa and the creation of a metaverse for an expanding media conglomerate.
